For creating curls using a Metropolis flat iron, the first thing you have to do is to choose the right device suited for the job. An ideal styling tool would be the one having 1 inch wide plates with curved edges and a narrow head. Using iron with wide plates and square edges won't create nice curls.
Day old hair is best recommended for creating curls, as the oil content in the hair will allow the curls to retain its shape for a longer. If you wash your hair, blow dry it completely before styling. But using a blow dryer before curling is not advisable as the curls won't hold for long. Using a heat protectant is advisable as it acts as a protector against the harmful effects of high heat. Certain hair products are also available that helps you to ensure the curls stays long.
Few steps to follow
1. Separate hair into section of 1-2 inch width. The thinner the section, smaller will be the curl. For bigger, bouncy curls, a larger width section in 2 inch should be taken. You can vary the width for a natural look curl.
2. Hair should be held out at an angle around 45 degrees from the roots and the Metropolis straightener is pressed over the section from where you desire to get the curl. If you want to curl your hair from the scalp, then the iron should be placed as close to the roots. Then by twisting your wrist one and a half rotation, you can twist your hair.
3. Now pull the iron gradually until you reach its end. For obtaining a loose curl pull out the iron as quick as possible, while for a tighter curl slow down the process. Repeat the process until the desired result is obtained. Apply any finishing spray if required.
